‘Sense Of Hunger Came From New York, Not India’, Chef Vikas Khanna's Sassy Reply To BBC Journalist Wins The Internet!

Vikas Khanna’s befitting reply to a BBC journalist is winning the internet!

A BBC news anchor recently asked Michelin star chef Vikas Khanna if his sense of hunger had stemmed from India since he did not grow up in a "rich" household and Khanna’s befitting reply is winning the internet. The 48-year-old Punjab-born chef has been hitting the headlines when he started an initiative to distribute dry ration to old-age homes, orphanages and leprosy centres in India amid the coronavirus pandemic in April. Khanna was speaking about the drive when the BBC anchor asked if the chef understood the sense of hunger since he did not hail from a rich family.
“You’ve cooked for the Obamas, you’ve been on TV show with Gordon Ramsay. But it wasn’t always that way, was it? You’re not from a rich family. So, I dare say, you understand how precarious it can be in India,” the anchor said. To which Vikas Khanna, replied, “No, I am from Amritsar, everyone gets fed there in the langars. My sense of hunger came from New York.” Watch the video here: The video clip soon went viral on social media like a wild fire, with many lauding Khanna for his response.
