Filming for 'Border 2', starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, has officially begun. Directed by Anurag Singh, this film is the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 classic 'Border', which portrayed the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The original, directed by J.P. Dutta, featured a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and others.

About Border 2

‘Border 2’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with T-Series and JP Dutta's J.P. Films backing the project. The sequel aims to continue the legacy of the iconic first film while delivering an even grander cinematic experience. The storyline is said to focus on the 1999 Kargil War, where Pakistani forces infiltrated Indian territory along the Line of Control (LoC).

The film will see Sunny Deol reprise his role, with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty joining the cast. The film's release is scheduled for January 23, 2026. Announced in June, Sunny Deol’s involvement was confirmed, with Varun and Diljit’s casting news following in August and September, respectively.
