‘Badhaai Do’: Rajkummar Rao Announces Release Date Of Upcoming Film With Bhumi Pednekar

New Delhi: The sequel to the hit 2018 film ‘Badhaai Ho’, the upcoming film ‘Badhaai Do’ is all set to release on the big screens next year. Featuring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, ‘Badhaai Do’ will release in theatres on Republic Day weekend on 2022.

Rajkummar Rao shared the update of the release of ‘Badhaai Do’ in his latest social media post. The actor wrote while sharing, “Theatre ready... Aap ready... Toh hum bhi ready...Republic Day weekend 2022 ko aa rahe hain hum aapse milne in cinemas to celebrate… So save the date!! And congratulations nahi #BadhaaiDo”.

Directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, ‘Badhaai Do’ has been written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial. While Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing the role of a policeman in the movie, Bhumi will be witnessed playing the role of a physical education teacher. Actress Sheeba Chaddha will also be seen playing the role of Rajkummar’s mother in the movie. 

‘Badhaai Do’ is the sequel to the 2018 film ‘Badhaai Ho’ featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri and Sanya Malhotra. The movie tells the story of a middle-aged couple getting pregnant. The movie garnered praises from both the critics and the audience.

On a related note, Rajkummar Rao’s latest movie ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’ was released on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on October 29, 2021. The movie co-stars Kriti Sanon, Ratna Pathak Shah and Paresh Rawal in lead roles.

Speaking about his upcoming movies, Rajkummar Rao will be next seen featuring in a lead role in ‘Monica, O My Darling’ and ‘Hit: The First Case’. Bhumi Pednekar, on the other hand, will be next seen featuring opposite Akshay Kumar in ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Bheed’, ‘Bhakshak’ and ‘Mr Lele’.
