Just a day after officially parting ways with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, dancer and choreographer Dhanashree Verma was spotted promoting her latest song, 'Dekha Ji Dekha Maine', which intriguingly revolves around themes of infidelity.
Dhanashree dodges paparazzi's questions
Dhanashree made an appearance at the T-Series office, where she posed for photographers and interacted with the media. While the paparazzi were eager to capture her reaction to the finalisation of her divorce from the Indian spinner, she kept her responses minimal.
Clad in an all-black ensemble, she initially asked the photographers if they had listened to her song before responding to their queries. When questioned about the court’s decision on her divorce, she simply gestured with her hand and remarked, “Gaana suno pehle” (Listen to the song first).

As one of the photographers pointed out the striking connection between the song’s theme and her personal life, she responded with a thumbs-up.

‘Dekha Ji Dekha Maine’ delves into the emotional turbulence of love and betrayal. The music video, featuring Dhanashree alongside actor Ishwak Singh, offers a raw depiction of a deteriorating relationship. Shot against the scenic yet stark outskirts of Jaipur, the video blends elements of passion and turmoil.
The song, composed by Jaani, is powered by the vocals of Jyoti Nooran and musical arrangements by Bunny. Directed by Dhruwal Patel and Jigar Mulani, the music video premiered on the T-Series YouTube channel.
Dhanashree and Chahal's divorce
Dhanashree and Chahal’s marriage came to a legal end on March 20, when a family court in Bandra granted their mutual consent divorce.
Chahal and Verma, who tied the knot in December 2020, were living separately since June 2022. Earlier this year, on February 5, they moved the family court with a joint request for a mutual divorce. However, due to Chahal’s commitment to the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL)—where he is set to play for Punjab Kings—the Bombay High Court urged the family court to expedite the proceedings and issue a ruling before March 22, the start of the tournament.
As per the Hindu Marriage Act, couples seeking divorce by mutual consent are required to undergo a six-month cooling-off period to reconsider their decision. However, Chahal and Verma had approached the High Court seeking an exemption, arguing that they had been living separately for a significant period and had already finalised their terms.
Initially, the family court had declined their request, citing incomplete compliance with the agreed-upon financial settlement. Chahal was supposed to pay Verma ₹4.75 crore as permanent alimony, but he had only transferred ₹2.37 crore at the time. Additionally, a marriage counselor’s report had noted that mediation efforts had only been partially successful.
However, the High Court overruled this decision, stating that the second installment of the payment was scheduled to be made only after the divorce decree was granted. With all legal conditions met, the court waived the mandatory waiting period and allowed the divorce to proceed.
