Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season kicks off this Saturday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, with a high-voltage clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Before the match, a grand opening ceremony will set the stage for the tournament, featuring performances by some of Bollywood and the music industry's biggest stars.

Star-studded performances lined up

As per tradition, the BCCI has planned a grand opening ceremony ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This year, Bollywood actress Disha Patani, celebrated playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, and Punjabi music sensation Karan Aujla will headline the event, promising a dazzling spectacle for fans.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opening ceremony will begin at 6 PM IST, with prominent Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and IPL Governing Council officials in attendance.

Newly appointed ICC Chairman Jay Shah is also expected to grace the occasion. As part of the event, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane will take the stage with the trophy, and RCB skipper Rajat Patidar may also make an appearance.

Kolkata weather alert

While fans eagerly await the season opener between KKR and RCB, Kolkata weather conditions could pose a challenge. A light drizzle was reported at Eden Gardens last night, raising concerns over possible rain interruptions.
