Akshay Kumar has announced the release date for his much-anticipated historical drama, ‘Kesari 2’. The film, slated to hit theatres worldwide on April 18, also features R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles.
Taking to social media on Saturday, the 57-year-old actor unveiled the big news, along with an exciting update about the film’s teaser. “A revolution painted in courage. #KesariChapter2 teaser drops this Monday! Brace yourselves! Releasing in cinemas on April 18!” read his post, setting the stage for the upcoming sequel.

Directed by debutant filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi, ‘Kesari 2’ is produced under the banners of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, and Anand Tiwari and Amritpal Singh Bindra. While its predecessor, Kesari (2019), depicted the valorous Battle of Saragarhi, the sequel is expected to delve into another significant chapter of history—the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

A motion poster shared by Kumar features a bloodstained brick wall riddled with bullet holes, the poster carried the chilling text: A revolution painted in courage… Kesari Chapter 2, accompanied by the sound of gunfire. Alongside the post, the actor wrote: “Kuch ladaaiyan hathiyaaron se nahi ladi jaati. #KesariChapter2 teaser out on 24th March. In cinemas 18th April, worldwide.”
Six years of Kesari
The announcement coincided with the six-year anniversary of ‘Kesari’. Marking the occasion, Akshay shared some stills from the 2019 film, which depicted the heroic tale of 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army bravely taking on thousands of Afghan tribesmen in 1897.

Karan Johar shared a post about the film
Filmmaker Karan Johar, one of the key producers, also took to social media to highlight the journey behind the making of ‘Kesari 2’. He shared that the director had invested nearly five years in the project, navigating through pandemic-related delays to bring this story to the big screen.
Fans will get the first glimpse when the teaser drops on March 24, ahead of the grand theatrical release on April 18.
