'Baaghi' shines at box office in opening weekend

Mumbai: Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer romantic action film “Baaghi” has received an overwhelming response at the box office by minting over Rs.35 crore in its opening weekend. Directed by Sabbir Khan, the film, which collected Rs.11.94 crore on its opening day, perfectly managed to increase footfalls on Saturday and Sunday by collecting Rs.11.13 crore and Rs.15.51 crore respectively thus taking its cumulative total to Rs.38.58 crore, a statement said. Apart from doing well in multiplexes, the film has received good response in single screens too, according to trade analyst Komal Nahta. “Outstanding weekend for 'Baaghi'. Collections in single-screen cinemas are of the kind not seen since long,” Nahta posted on Twitter. “Baaghi”, which released on April 29, is Tiger's second film with Sabbir Khan after “Heropanti”. The film also stars Sudheer Babu and Sunil Grover.
