After Sonu Sood, Swara Bhaskar Helps Migrant Workers Reach Their Home, Arranges Train Tickets For Them

Swara Bhaskar, who reached Delhi from Mumbai last week, launched an initiative for the migrant workers. She has successfully facilitated the return of around 1350 workers.

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, known for her power-packed performance in films like ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ and ‘Raanjhanaa’, has come forward to help the migrant workers, who are not able to return to their home states due to the COVID-19 lockdown.  The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress launched an initiative for the distressed migrant workers and arranged train tickets for them so that they could reach their homes.

According to a report in a news portal, Swara has successfully managed to facilitate the return of 1350  workers to their homes in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. After returning to Delhi from Mumbai to meet her mother, the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actress and her team collected the date of the people, who wanted to go back to their hometown. She arranged train tickets for the workers with the help of Delhi government, the report added.

“I felt ashamed to be in the safety and comfort of my home when lakhs of people are being forced into destitution and hardship,” Swara told Times Now.

She further revealed how her initiative was planned. The actress said that her team collected data personally through web forms and then contacted the people to help them get their train tickets.

Swara also arranged footwear for the families of the migrant workers in Delhi. “The migrant crisis is the most severe human impact story of our time - lakhs of our migrant brothers and sisters have walked hundreds of kilometres, often without slippers or shoes due to the after effects of the Corona lockdown. it's a harsh reality hard to ignore,” the talented actress wrote while sharing pictures on social media.

Sonu Sood, who is being praised from all the corners, also arranged transportation for the migrant workers. He has helped workers from Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar and Jharkhand reach their hometown. Several people have flooded his social media handles, urging the 'Dabangg' actor to help them reach their home.
