Golden Globes 2024 TV Win: Succession, The Bear & Beef Winners Among All

Other than Succession, 'The Bear' and the limited series 'Beef' on Netflix won in several categories.

New Delhi: ‘Succession’ ruled big in the TV series wins. The comedy-drama clinched the trophy for Best Drama Series at the ongoing Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles. Other than Succession, 'The Bear' and the limited series 'Beef' on Netflix won in several categories. While both the leads from 'The Bear': Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri won Best actors awards in the comedy/musical TV series category, 'Beef' won the best limited series besides also winning accolades for its lead actors Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.

The series won over fellow nominees ‘1923’, ‘The Crown’, ‘The Diplomat’, ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘The Morning Show’.

It stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook.

Sarah, who portrayed the role of Siobhan "Shiv" Roy in the series, also won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama.

Actor Jeremy Allen White walked away with the trophy for the Best Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy for his work in 'The Bear'.

He edged out fellow nominees Bill Hader for 'Barry', Steve Martin for 'Only Murders in the Building', Jason Segel for 'Shrinking', Martin Short for 'Only Murders in the Building' and Jason Sudeikis for 'Ted Lasso'.

The official 'X' account, congratulated the actor as they wrote, "That's a WIN for Jeremy Allen White in The Bear congrats #GoldenGlobes."

Ayo Edebiri beat Rachel Brosnahan for ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, Quinta Brunson for ‘Abbott Elementary’, Elle Fanning for ‘The Great’, Selena Gomez for ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and Natasha Lyonne for ‘Poker Face’.

‘The Bear’ follows the story of a young chef, Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White, who inherits his family's Italian beef sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother.

He comes home to Chicago to run it, leaving behind his world of working in a Michelin star restaurant.

He is left to deal with his brother's unresolved debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff, while dealing with his own pain and family trauma.

The official X handle congratulated the actress as they wrote, “Ayo Edebiri from The Bear is the Best Television Female Actor - Musical/Comedy Series winner! #GoldenGlobes”.

'Beef' also won the best limited series after having been appreciated and lauded over the last year. Its two leads  Steven Yeun and Ali Wong also won best actor awards in the mentiones category.

The 81st Golden Globe Awards was organised in Beverly Hills, California.

Indian audiences can stream the award show on Lionsgate Play.
