First Look Of Alia Bhatt As 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' Along With Release Date OUT Now; Check Out!

Alia Bhatt unveiled her new look as Gangubai Kathiawadi and it has rightly created a buzz on social media!

One of the most-awaited film of 2021, Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt in a lead role has got a new release date on Wednesday along with the film's first poster. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on July 30 this year.

Announcing the new release date of Gangubai Kathiawadi on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's birthday, today(February22) Alia shared a new poster of the film, in which she can be seen sporting a pastel green traditional outfit, a bindi with her hair styled in a side braid. "In cinemas July 30, 2021," the actress wrote in the caption of her post with a heart icon.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai which follows the true story of a woman named Gangubai Kothewali who was a sex worker but later emerged as an underworld don in Mumbai.

Gangubai Kathiawadi also features Ajay Devgn, who plays the role of a mobster Karim Lala and eventually falls in love with Gangubai while teaching her the tricks of the trade.  

With the film releasing on July 30, it will now lock horns with Prabhas' 'Radhe Shyam' which is releasing on the same date. It will be interesting to see Alia Vs Prabhas on box-office and only time will decide which film will win at the ticket window!
