Actor Dipika Kakar, who was recently discharged from the hospital 11 days after undergoing a major surgery for stage 2 liver cancer, is now sharing her deeply personal journey with her fans.

Actor Dipika Kakar, who was recently discharged from the hospital 11 days after undergoing a major surgery for stage 2 liver cancer, is now sharing her deeply personal journey with her fans. In her latest vlog, titled “Duaon Ke Liye Dil Se Shukriya,” Dipika revealed one of the most heartbreaking parts of her recovery: having to abruptly wean her son Ruhaan off breastfeeding overnight.

“I Cried So Much That Night,” Says Dipika Kakar

Opening up in her vlog, Dipika got emotional as she recalled how difficult it was to stop breastfeeding her son so suddenly after her cancer diagnosis.

She shared,“Sabse pehli jo cheez karni thi, jo I think mere liye sabse zyada…one of the most difficult things is pure ek mahine mein rahi hai, was weaning off Ruhaan in one night. Mere paas option hi nahi tha. I had to do that and main bohot royi us raat ko. Main bohot zyada royi.”

Dipika explained that while she knew she would eventually need to wean Ruhaan, she never imagined it would have to happen so abruptly and under such circumstances.

“But ab body mein hazaar dawaiyaan jayengi, treatment hoga, and aisi situation mein bachhe ko aap na feed karo wohi better hota hai.”

Expresses Gratitude for Fans’ Prayers

Despite the challenges, Dipika made sure to thank her fans for their constant prayers and support throughout this difficult time. She said, “I’ve cried a lot – out of happiness – knowing that so many people love me so much. I feel truly blessed. And I also feel a little proud that I’ve earned so much love.”

Her fans, who have followed her journey closely, have been leaving heartfelt messages and prayers for her speedy recovery.

“Free from the Tumour,” Confirms Husband Shoaib Ibrahim

Dipika’s husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, also updated fans in his vlog, confirming that she is now “free from the tumour” after a grueling 14-hour-long surgery earlier this month.

Shoaib shared that during the surgery, doctors removed Dipika’s gall bladder due to a stone and also cut out a small portion of her liver to ensure the tumour was completely taken out.

“Her tumour was taken out nicely. The gall bladder was also taken out after surgery because of a stone. Because the liver had a tumour, some portion, a small percentage of it, was also cut. There is nothing to stress about it since the liver is an organ that regenerates itself,” Shoaib explained.

Dipika Kakar’s Brave Battle with Stage 2 Liver Cancer

Dipika first revealed her diagnosis in a heartfelt Instagram note, recounting how a severe pain in her upper stomach led to the discovery of a tennis-ball-sized tumour in her liver.

Part of her post read: “As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us... walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach... and then finding out its a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then Finding out that the tumour is Second stage Malignant (Cancerous) ... it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced!”

Dipika and Shoaib, who met on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka and married in 2018, welcomed their first child, Ruhaan, in 2023.

As Dipika continues her recovery and further treatment, fans remain hopeful and supportive, sending prayers for her strength and good health ahead.
