When Salman Khan Saved Ayesha Jhulka's Life: 'He Pulled Me As Train Sped Towards Me'

Ayesha Jhulka, a popular name in 1990s Bollywood, recently opened up about a terrifying on-set experience where Salman Khan saved her life just in time.

Ayesha Jhulka, a popular name in 1990s Bollywood, recently opened up about a terrifying on-set experience where Salman Khan saved her life just in time. The actress, who starred in several hit films, recalled an incident from the sets of her 1991 film 'Kurbaan' when a split-second decision by Salman averted a potential tragedy.

How Salman Khan saved Ayesha Jhulka's life

In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Ayesha shared that film sets back then lacked stringent safety measures, and communication was primitive, relying on hand signals and loud shouts instead of walkie-talkies. The team was shooting a song sequence on a railway track near Igatpuri, under the assumption that no trains would pass during their scheduled shoot.

Recalling the harrowing moment, Ayesha said, “We were shooting on the tracks. The cameraman had placed the camera. I had to dance on the track, and before me, Salman was dancing on the track.” She explained that the remote location meant minimal supervision and limited crew presence.

Amidst the loud music and repeated rehearsals, disaster struck. Without warning, a train sped towards her while she was on the tracks. That’s when Salman acted on instinct. “Suddenly, I was moved in such a quick motion that I felt like all my organs shifted. He just had to pull me because he heard the train,” she said.

For a few moments, Ayesha was left dazed, struggling to comprehend what had just happened. It was only when others rushed to explain that she realised Salman had saved her life. “He was screaming at the unit guys. He could have been the one on the track, he was just giving a shot before me,” she added.
