When Atal Bihari Vajpayee Praised Shekhar Suman For His Show ‘Movers & Shakers’

Shekhar Suman recalled an anecdote when Atal Bihari Vajpayee praised his popular show ‘Movers & Shakers’.

Renowned actor Shekhar Suman recently reminisced about a heartwarming interaction he had with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He sat down for a chat with ABPLive and discussed if his popular show ‘Movers and Shakers’ can be made in this day and age. Shekhar recounted an anecdote that highlighted Vajpayee's admiration for his show.

According to Shekhar Suman, he got the biggest blessing from Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He shared the incident, “Vajpayee ji was going to a function. He saw me and stopped the car. He came down, hugged me, congratulated me, patted my cheeks and said, 'You have done very well and do not stop it. I record and watch your show every day. Let me tell you one thing, when you become Vajpayee Saheb yourself, I laugh the loudest.’”

Shekhar Suman reflected on the changing dynamics of politicians in contemporary society. He expressed surprise at the thin-skinned nature of politicians who seem to find offence in even the slightest criticism or commentary. “I am surprised that politicians today have started taking offence at everything. They have started criticising everything. They should be happy that someone is talking about them. The worst thing about being talked about is not being talked about. Someone is talking about you, listen and enjoy,” the actor said.

Shekhar also said that in that time there was freedom to work.
