'The Day Karan Johar Starts…’: Vivek Agnihotri On If He Will Ever Make A Romantic Movie
Vivek Agnihotri was asked if he will make a comedy or a romantic film in future. Here's what the filmmaker replied.
New Delhi: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri loves showing off his wit and humour. Agnihotri, who is well-known for his politically and socially important films, couldn't pass up the chance to make a witty comment, saying that he would only make a romantic movie when Karan Johar tried his hand at documentaries. In a recent chat with ABP Live, he talked about his upcoming film ‘The Vaccine War’, his favourite filmmaker and more.
Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial debut was the 2012 film ‘Chocolate’, and two years later, in 2014, he directed a sensual thriller ‘Zid’. However, his last few movies, like 'The Kashmir Files', 'The Tashkent Files' and 'The Delhi Files' are based on real-life events.
During the interview, Vivek Agnihotri was asked whether we can see him making a comedy or a romantic film in future. To which, he replied, “I don't think so. Let Karan Johar make it, that's his department. The day Karan Johar starts making political films, I'll start making comedy or romance films.”
When asked about his favourite young filmmaker, he said, "I love anybody who does good work. Anybody who does bad work, I might advise them to try and do more good in future."
'The Vaccine War,' directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, stars Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda and Pallavi Joshi. Agnihotri's ability to craft compelling stories that would appeal to a wide audience has been on full display since the release of the film's trailer. Touted to be India's first bio-science film, it is about India's fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.
