Sonakshi Sinha Opens Up About Her Parents' Reaction To Wedding With Zaheer Iqbal: 'Jab Miya Biwi Raazi...'
Sonakshi Sinha talked about her family's reaction to her decision to marry actor Zaheer Iqbal.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, who never revealed their relationship to the public, surprised everyone by getting married in June. Rumours that Sonakshi's family—her father Shatrughan Sinha and her brothers Luv and Kush—were unhappy with the marriage also surfaced online during the wedding festivities. To put an end to the rumours, Sonakshi's parents were in present at both the wedding and the reception.
Sonakshi talked about her family's reaction to her decision to marry Zaheer in a recent interview with Zoom. She stated that her father, seasoned actor Shatrughan Sinha, was totally on board. “All friends and family knew about our relationship for years,” Sonakshi said.
“My dad was very happy. He said, ‘Jab miya biwi raazi toh kya karega kaazi?’ (If the couple is ready to get married, who can stop them)”.
Sonakshi added that Zaheer and her father got to know one another on a few occasions before to the wedding and had come to admire each other.
Zaheer said he was impressed with Shatrughan and said, “I am in awe of him and his intelligence. The knowledge he has is incredible. Just sitting with him for an hour or two feels like attending a university.”
As she revealed that her mother Poonam Sinha was the first person she spoke to in about the relationship, Sonakshi also recounted her mother's response. My mom knew him well. She herself had a love marriage, so she understands,” she said.

Before getting married, Sonakshi and Zaheer had been in a relationship for over seven years. Stars including Salman Khan, Huma Qureshi, Rekha, and Kajol attended a lavish reception that followed Sonakshi and Zaheer's registered marriage on June 23, which took place at her Mumbai home.
