New Delhi: Parents of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala are preparing to welcome a new member in their family. Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur is reportedly pregnant and is expected to deliver in March. Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29,2022 in Jawaharke village of Mansa.
Moosewala was the only child of his parents, who are now in their late fifties. According to Tribune, Charan Kaur got pregnant through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) technique and is under observation by the medical team. Maintaining a low profile for over six months, Charan Kaur has stayed away from public attention.
Sidhu Moosewala had unsuccessfully contested the elections from Mansa in 2022 on Congress ticket. At that time as per an affidavit, Moosewala's mother was 56 years old. His father Balkaur Singh is 60 years old.
Moosewala's murder case involves 31 accused, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, with 25 already taken into custody.
On May 29, Moosewala left his house with his cousin Gurpreet Singh and neighbour Gurwinder Singh at around 4:30 pm, according to police. He was driving his SUV to his aunt's house in Barnala. At Jawaharke, two cars blocked his SUV. Around 30 rounds were fired during the incident.
Sidhu's police security was reduced a day before leaving him with two commandos instead of the earlier four.
Despite his untimely demise, Moosewala's musical legacy lives on. Known for his self-written and produced songs, he was revered as one of the most loved Punjabi singers, particularly among the youth. Posthumously released songs have continued to captivate audiences, amassing millions of hits.
Notably, Charan Kaur recently voiced support for protesting farmers in the 'Dilli Chalo' movement on her social media platforms. She also sought justice for Shubhkaran Singh, a farmer who lost his life at Khanauri border, sharing images of Sidhu Moosewala, Deep Sidhu, and Shubhkaran Singh on her social media accounts.
