Shruti Haasan On Her Relationship Journey: 'For You It's A Number, For Me It's About Failing In Love'

Actor Shruti Haasan has never shied away from speaking candidly about her personal life. Over the years, she has been open about her relationships.

Actor Shruti Haasan has never shied away from speaking candidly about her personal life. Over the years, she has been open about her relationships, having dated actor Michael Corsale and visual artist Santanu Hazarika.

In a recent conversation with Filmfare, Shruti reflected on her journey, sharing that she has "no regrets" and offering a powerful response to those who ask her, "which number boyfriend is this?"

Shruti Haasan on her love life

When asked if there was anything she would like to redo in her life or anything she regrets, Shruti said, "I have hurt some people and I wish I didn’t do that. Everything else, I have like zero regrets. I’m like, okay, I was a clown, it’s fine. Just some people that were very valuable to me, I hurt them by mistake and I always now spend my time saying sorry for it."

As the conversation shifted to relationships, she admitted she wished she "wasn’t so influenced" by her past relationships.

Speaking about how that pattern hasn’t changed over the years, she added, "We all have that one dangerous ex, apart from that, I do close the chapter with no regrets. That's why when people say, oh, which number boyfriend is this? You're not understanding – for you it's a number, for me it's the number of times I failed at having the love I want. So, I don't feel bad about it...but I feel a little bad. Of course, I'm human."

Shruti further explained that she doesn’t hold her partners solely responsible when a relationship ends, stating that two people can't be expected to change "at the same time, in the same way."

She emphasised that she has always been "loyal" and "good" in relationships and added that if she hasn’t made a choice, she doesn't feel she "owe(s) people answers."
