Shahid Kapoor Praises Operation Sindoor With Bold Post, Later Edits Caption, Disables Comments

Shahid Kapoor initially posted a strong message supporting India’s Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack. But his sudden caption edit and disabled comments have left fans puzzled.

India’s swift and targeted military response under Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, following the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, has triggered nationwide conversation. Citizens, celebrities, and social media users alike have taken to various platforms to express support, outrage, and solidarity.

Among the many high-profile voices reacting to the strikes—conducted against nine terror outfits in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK)—were Bollywood stars such as Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay, Kangana Ranaut, and Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor's response

Shahid Kapoor, in particular, drew attention with a striking Instagram post featuring a fighter jet, accompanied by a strong message:
“India doesn't provoke. But India never forgets. #operationsindoor.”

The post was widely praised for its bold tone, with many fans calling it “powerful” and “patriotic.”

However, within hours, Kapoor edited the caption to simply display the Indian flag emoji alongside the hashtag—“🇮🇳 #operationsindoor”—and disabled comments on the post. The move has sparked speculation online, with users questioning the reason behind the sudden change in tone and the restricted engagement.

Shahid's Pahalgam post

This isn’t Shahid’s first public response to the crisis. In the immediate aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, he had posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Innocent lives lost in Pahalgam. Nothing but pain comes out of such cowardly acts of terrorism. This is not what anyone’s god would ever accept. Jo jo karam karega tu use hi hoga bharna. Praying for the families dealing with the immeasurable loss. 🙏🏼”

On the professional front, Shahid was last seen in the action thriller Deva alongside Pooja Hegde. He is now gearing up to reunite with director Vishal Bhardwaj for Arjun Ustara, another high-octane action thriller. The duo had previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed Haider (2014).

As discussions around Operation Sindoor continue to dominate the public sphere, Shahid Kapoor’s evolving social media response adds a curious twist to the celebrity discourse.
