MET Gala 2025 Theme
The theme for this year’s Met Gala, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," explores the rich history and cultural significance of Black fashion, tracing its evolution from the 18th century to contemporary interpretations.
Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s influential 2009 book Slaves to Fashion, the concept highlights the idea of the Black dandy — using fashion as a powerful form of self-expression and identity. Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibit intertwines fashion with deep-rooted historical and cultural narratives.
