Sanjay Dutt Confirms 62-Year-Old Fan Left Him ₹72 Crore Property—Here's What He Did Next
Sanjay Dutt confirmed a 62-year-old terminally ill fan left him property worth ₹72 crore in her will. The actor revealed he returned the entire inheritance to her family out of respect.

It’s not unusual for Bollywood stars to have a massive fan following, but once in a while, a fan's devotion crosses all imaginable boundaries. In Sanjay Dutt’s case, that admiration came in the form of a jaw-dropping inheritance worth ₹72 crore. The story recently resurfaced online, and this time, the actor himself confirmed it.
In a recent chat with Curly Tales, Dutt was asked if the 2018 reports about him receiving a fan’s entire estate were true. The actor responded calmly, “It is true.” When asked what became of the money, his reply was simple and dignified: “I gave it back to the family.”
The fan in question was Nisha Patil, a 62-year-old homemaker from Mumbai who had been battling a terminal illness. Before passing away, she reportedly instructed her bank to transfer all her assets, amounting to ₹72 crore, to the Khal Nayak star.
Sanjay Dutt's life full of highs, lows, and redemption
Sanjay Dutt’s life has always read like a screenplay, equal parts cinematic and chaotic. He made his debut in 1981 with Rocky and quickly rose to prominence with hits like Vidhaata, Naam, Saajan, Khal Nayak, Vaastav, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. His on-screen charm and brooding persona earned him a loyal fan base.
But fame didn’t come without its shadows. His arrest in the aftermath of the 1993 Bombay blasts under the TADA Act and subsequent conviction under the Arms Act resulted in a five-year prison sentence. He completed his term in 2016. Despite the legal troubles and public scrutiny, Sanjay managed to revive his career and rebuild his image over time.
Sanjay Dutt's upcoming projects
The actor was last seen in 'Bhootnii' and 'Housefull 5', and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. Up next, he’ll feature in 'Akhanda 2' alongside Balakrishna, slated to hit theatres on September 25. He’s also part of Aditya Dhar’s ensemble espionage thriller 'Dhurandhar', starring Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun. The film will release on December 5, clashing with 'The RajaSaab', another high-profile project that pairs Sanjay with Prabhas. He’s also confirmed to appear in the upcoming Kannada biggie 'KD – The Devil', which is set for release in 2026.
