The news of his demise was shared by his close friend, actor Anupam Kher, who posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Many actors paid emotional tributes to Pritish Nandy. However, actress Neena Gupta’s reaction to the news was notably different, as she refrained from expressing condolences and instead shared a cryptic post hinting at past conflicts between them.

Neena Gupta’s reaction

Neena Gupta, in her response to Pritish Nandy’s passing, wrote, "No RIP… Do you know what Pritish did to me? He stole my daughter Masaba Gupta’s birth certificate and had it published. So, no RIP, you understand? I have proof of it."

An extraordinary poet, writer, filmmaker, and a fearless and unique editor/journalist. During my early days in Mumbai, he helped me immensely and was a great source of strength for me. We shared so much together.

He was one of the most fearless individuals I have ever met. Always larger than life. I learned so many things from him. Although we hadn’t met much recently, there was a time when we were inseparable. I will miss you and the moments we shared."
