The ashes of legendary actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar were immersed in the sacred waters of the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar on Saturday.

The ashes of legendary actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar were immersed in the sacred waters of the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar on Saturday. The emotional farewell was carried out by his family, including his sons Kunal and Vishal Goswami, who performed the rituals at Brahma Kund under the guidance of a priest.

“We have immersed our father's ashes here. We pray to god to grant peace and wisdom to his soul, and to give him a place in his divine shelter,” Kunal Goswami was quoted as saying by PTI.
The actor, whose real name was Harikrishan Giri Goswami, passed away on April 4 in Mumbai at the age of 87 due to age-related health complications. He had been unwell for some time and had largely stepped away from the public eye in recent years.
Prominent members of the film industry paid respect to the actor after his demise including Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Subhash Ghai, Anu Malik, Zayed Khan, Prem Chopra, Dharmendra, Prem Chopra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and Rajpal Yadav.

His most ambitious work, Kranti, brought together a powerhouse ensemble and remains one of the most iconic films of its time. Not only did he act in it, but he also directed the epic historical drama.
Manoj Kumar is survived by his wife Shashi and their two sons, who continue to carry forward his legacy of artistic excellence and cinematic patriotism.
