Leo Director Lokesh Kanagaraj Should Undergo Psychological Examination: Petition In Court

'Vikram' and 'Leo' director Lokesh Kanagaraj has found himself in legal trouble.

New Delhi: 'Vikram' and 'Leo' director Lokesh Kanagaraj has found himself in legal trouble. A petition has been filed against the acclaimed director requesting a psychological evaluation of him. The petition has been filed by Raju Murugan from Madurai, who also sought a ban on the Vijay-starrer 'Leo' for its violence.

As per an India Today report, a man named Raja Murugan claimed in his petition that Lokesh Kanagaraj should be examined psychologically. He further added that his films tend to incite violence.

As per the same report, the petition also says that the film 'Leo' sets a bad precedent among audiences by showing characters involved in illegal activities such as committing crimes with police support or over speeding.

In the petition, the said person also mentioned that the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should pay more attention while issuing censor certificates to such films. In his concluding remarks, Ram Murugan asked the court to have Lokesh Kanagaraj subjected to psychological evaluaction and also asked the court to take criminal action against the filmmaker.

Justice Krishna Kumar and Vijay Kumar heard the petition and adjourned the case as the lawyer for the petitioner who did not show up in court, reported India Today.

Meanwhile, 'Leo' happens to be one of last year's biggest blockbusters. The film also marked Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay's second collaboration after 'Master'. The action-film had an ensemble cast.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj film collected Rs. 600 cr worldwide.

In December 2023, Lokesh Kanagarj had announced his break from social media.
