Bollywood veteran Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have found themselves at the center of swirling divorce rumours. Reports suggesting that the couple is heading for a split after nearly 37 years of marriage have been making waves online. While neither Govinda nor Sunita has issued a statement, Govinda’s secretary denied the rumours. Now Govinda’s nephew Krushna Abhishek and niece Arti Singh have responded to the reports. 

Arti Singh calls divorce rumours baseless 

Arti Singh, addressed the divorce rumours in an interview with News18. She strongly refuted the claims, asserting that there was no truth to the reports. “I am honestly not in Mumbai right now, so I haven’t been in touch with anybody. But let me tell you something—this is false news. These are just speculations because their bond is so strong. They have built a strong and loving relationship over the years, so how can they get divorced? I don’t know where people get all these rumours from—completely untrue. People should refrain from spreading misinformation about their personal lives. In fact, news about my divorce had also surfaced for no reason. Such baseless gossip only creates unnecessary stress,” she told News 18. 

Krushna Abhishek dismisses the rumour

Amid the ongoing chatter, actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek, dismissed the rumours outright. Speaking to HT City, he said, “This is not possible. They won’t divorce.” 

Reports of separation notice and Manager’s response 

Some reports suggested that Sunita had sent a separation notice to Govinda a few months ago and there has reportedly been no progress in that direction. A source told ETimes that although the notice was sent, no further action has been taken.  

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, told ABP News, “There is no truth to these reports. I always stay with Govinda Ji, and there is nothing like this. Sunita must have given some interviews, and someone must have exaggerated her words, which is why such news is spreading.” 

Govinda and Sunita live in separate houses

Earlier this year, Sunita Ahuja made a surprising revelation about their living situation, stating that she does not share the same residence as Govinda. While the Hero No. 1 star resides in his bungalow, Sunita and their children, daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan Ahuja, live in a flat located opposite the house.

Govinda and Sunita’s love story dates back to their early years when he was in his final year of B.Com, and she was still in school. Their relationship grew stronger as Govinda made his Bollywood debut, leading to their marriage on March 11, 1987. Over the years, they have built a strong family together, raising their daughter, Tina Ahuja, and son, Yashvardhan.
