New Delhi: Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma have been friends for more than seventeen years. Being a part of FTII, and staying friends since then, the two celebrated actors have come a long way. In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, the two actors shared their favourite performances of each other and why. They also spoke about thei Majboot actors association group on Whatsapp and the story behind it.

Jaideep & Vijay's favourite performance of each other

When Jaideep was asked which performance of Vijay he liked the most, he said 'Gully Boy' without any hestitation. He also added, "I loved his performance, every single frame. Dahaad."

He went on to add 'IC 814' because, "In the whole film, you are sitting in one seat. It’s not easy to handle that job — sitting on a chair and shooting for 6-7 episodes. I didn’t realize this while watching it, but it’s not easy to play that character.”

Meanwhile, when Vijay was asked about his favourite performance of Jaideep, the former added, 'Paatal Lok.'

"I enjoyed Paatal Lok alot. He is always almost spot on but Paatal Lok, but I felt like Jaideep was able to do great work but that was not a point of discussion everywhere. At the time, I used to call him everyday and we used to just celebrate killing it in Paatal Lok. It was such a measured performance in Paatal Lok."

About the Majboot Actors Association Whatsapp Group

The two almost broke into laughter to share the story behind their Whatsapp group with a motto 'gym nahi jayenge.'

Jaideep then went on to elaborate, "Gym nahi jayenge and portfolio nahi khichwayenge."

Vijay went on to add, "Jab Bombay aye the to sabko ye tha ki photo leke jate the," to which Jaideep added, "voh photo lifafe mein dikhana hota tha."

Saying that the two did not want to follow the same path and that led to this association to come into being. Vijay Varma emphasised, ‘Hum gym bhi nahi jayenge aur photo bhi nahi khichwayenge.’( We will not go to the gym or get our photo clicked).

The two also emphasised that they followed suit and did not get their portfolio done, till today.

Work front

Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat worked together on the film ‘Jaane Jaan’ alongside Katrina Kaif.
