New Delhi: Hansal Mehta is a filmmaker known for being vocal about many issues on social media. Recently, after Nandamuri Balakrishna shoved actor Anjali on the stage during a promotional event, Mehta slammed the Telugu megatsar-politician and called him a 'scumbag'.

While many applauded the 'Scam' filmmaker for raising his voice against wrongdoing, many Balakrishna fans did not take it lightly. A person tried to troll Hansal Mehta by sharing his PDA photo with wife Safeena Hussain.

The user on X made it back to Hansal, by sharing one of the viral pictures of Hansal kissing his wife Safeena. He captioned the photo, "Who is this scumbag in this Liplock photos @mehtahansal.”

The filmmaker quote tweeted the said post with, "Your trolling won’t work… it’s a man kissing his wife, expressing love publicly. Not pushing a woman, displaying misogyny in public.”

The fan’s tweet allegedly was referring to Hansal Mehta's previous tweet where he criticised Balakrishna's aggressive behavious towards Anjali. At the time, Mehta had reshared Balakrishna's viral video and tweeted, "Who is this scumbag?”

Hansal Mehta and Safeena tied the knot in 2022 in a close-knit ceremony in California. The two have known each other a long time and had been in a relationship. Safeena is the daughter of late actor Yusuf Hussain, known for his work in TV and several Bollywood films. 

Mehta was earlier married to Sunita, with whom he has two sons-Jay and Pallava.
