Fawad Khan Faces Backlash Over Condolence Message On India’s Operation Sindoor

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is under fire for his condolence message on India's Operation Sindoor. Fans criticize him for not naming India and accuse him of siding with Bollywood.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has once again found himself in the midst of a controversy. Previously facing boycott calls in India, the actor is now being criticized by his own fans in Pakistan after he posted a condolence message regarding those reportedly killed during India’s Operation Sindoor.

Fawad Khan's Statement Sparks Outrage

On Wednesday, Fawad shared a message on his official Instagram account, expressing sorrow over the casualties from the operation. He wrote:

"My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come. A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!"

Although Fawad’s Instagram has been blocked in India, a screenshot of the post began circulating on social media. According to reports, the post was later deleted following a wave of backlash from fans.

Pakistani Fans Unhappy with Fawad Khan

The actor's remarks sparked outrage among Pakistani fans, many of whom called him out for not directly mentioning India in his message. This omission led to speculation that he was trying to preserve his association with the Indian film industry, especially with his upcoming Bollywood project. For context, Fawad was set to return to Indian cinema with Abir Gulaal, originally scheduled for release on May 9, but the film’s release is now reportedly stalled due to the controversy.

Social media was flooded with criticism. One user wrote, "To hell with his ‘condolences’! What is this blaming everything India did on ‘rabble-rousing words’? He still didn’t speak anything against India." Another said, "Where did he mention India?" Others added, "Don’t need your condolences," and "High time our industry boycott him." Many users also urged others to unfollow him, expressing deep disappointment in his diplomatic stance.

What is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was announced by the Indian Armed Forces as a precision strike mission targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This operation came in direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed multiple lives and left several injured.
