Seema Sajdeh, the former wife of actor Sohail Khan, has spoken about her divorce and its effects on their sons, Nirvan and Yohan, in the latest season of 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives'. During the show, Seema shared that she moved from Bandra to Lower Parel for a fresh start but the move impacted her children significantly, as they chose to spend more time with their father Sohail in Bandra, which still felt like “home” to them.
Seema Sajdeh on how her divorce affected her kids
In a recent interview with Galatta India, Seema reflected on the emotional toll that a divorce can have on children, emphasizing the need for parents to recognize that children also go through a grieving process when families split up. “I have two children who are 11 years apart. There’s no specific age that defines how they feel the grief. We made this choice, not them,” Seema explained, highlighting how children today are more aware and self-confident but also exposed to an overwhelming amount of information compared to previous generations.
Reflecting on her journey since the divorce in 2022, Seema noted that she’s gained a new perspective on what children truly need from their parents post-divorce. “I will be divorced nearly two years now, and I can see that, ultimately, children want to see their parents united in their support for them. That sense of unity and happiness brings peace to the child and makes them feel less caught in the middle,” she said.

When Seema's younger son searched for the word 'divorce'
In one of the episodes, Seema’s eldest son, Nirvan, recalled that Yohan was searching for the meaning of the word “divorce” when their parents first separated, as he didn’t understand the term at the time. Seema shared that both her sons have adjusted to the situation, though in different ways. She said that while Nirvan is open and considers her his go-to person, Yohan tends to keep things to himself, making it necessary to encourage him to express his feelings.
Seema is now in a relationship with Vikram Ahuja, to whom she was engaged in the 1990s before eventually marrying Sohail. Sohail and Seema went their separate ways after 24 years of marriage.
