Divya Dutta Stands Up For Co-Star Rashmika Mandanna, Lauds Her 'Hardwork' In Chhaava Amid Performance Criticism
Divya Dutta has come out in support of her 'Chhaava' co-star Rashmika Mandanna, who faced criticism for her role.

New Delhi: From the moment it hit theatres, the film ‘Chhaava’—starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna—had fans going crazy. Despite the film's generally excellent reviews, some moviegoers have criticised how Rashmika portrayed Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale. Divya Dutta, who portrayed Rajmata Soyrabai Bhosale in the film directed by ‘Laxman Utekar’, has now spoken out, defending her co-star with all her heart.
During an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Dutta lauded Mandanna for her "remarkable talent" and emphasised her knack for consistently delivering hit films.
Divya Dutta said, "Although we didn’t have scenes together, I believe she is an incredible actor. If you look at her kohl-rimmed eyes in certain scenes, they are simply mesmerising. Let’s not forget that she has delivered several hits, which clearly means she has something that resonates with the audience.”
Praising Rashmika, she went on to say, “From what I know, she is a hardworking and genuinely sweet person. Mujhe toh bahut pyaari lagti hai (I find her adorable), I don’t know what others think."
According to Divya Dutta, the success of ’Chhaava, which is one of the greatest blockbusters of the year, says it all. "What truly matters is the film’s success. Chhaava has emerged as one of the year’s biggest blockbusters, and that’s worth celebrating," she said, supporting Rashmika and the rest of the actors for their job on set.
