Diljit Dosanjh Faces Heat As ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Trailer Blocked In India
Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, Diljit Dosanjh's ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ trailer is geo-blocked in India. The actor faces criticism for working with Pakistani star Hania Aamir.

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has found himself at the center of controversy after the trailer of his upcoming film 'Sardaar Ji' 3 became inaccessible to Indian audiences. Though the trailer was posted on Instagram and YouTube by the actor, users in India are met with the message: “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”
The move to geo-block the trailer on YouTube India has raised eyebrows, especially as the teaser and songs featuring Diljit and Neeru Bajwa remain viewable. Interestingly, the full trailer is still accessible via Instagram, where Diljit shared it with the caption, "Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only. FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.”

Hania Aamir's Casting Fuels Social Media Storm
The core of the controversy, however, lies in the film’s cast. 'Sardaar Ji 3' features Pakistani actor Hania Aamir opposite Diljit, a decision that has stirred backlash amidst renewed political tensions between India and Pakistan.
Following the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 that killed 26 people, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in May, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These events reignited calls to boycott Pakistani artists.
Diljit's decision to collaborate with Hania in such a sensitive climate hasn’t gone unnoticed. Criticism has mounted online, especially in light of Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor's film 'Abir Gulaal' being stalled due to similar concerns over cross-border collaborations.
What to Expect from ‘Sardaar Ji 3’
Directed by Amar Hundal, 'Sardaar Ji 3' brings back Diljit in his fan-favourite ghostbuster avatar. This time, the plot follows him to the UK, where he’s hired to exorcise a haunted mansion. Hania Aamir and Neeru Bajwa play romantic interests, while the ensemble cast includes Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, and Sapna Pabbi.
The film is the third instalment in the 'Sardaar Ji' franchise, which began in 2015 with Rohit Jugraj’s direction. The second part, also helmed by Jugraj, released in 2016. Unlike the previous two, Sardaar Ji 3 is being positioned as an overseas release only, at least for now.
As tensions remain high, the fate of the film’s India release hangs in the balance, with online discourse sharply divided between artistic freedom and national sentiment.
