Even over a decade after its release, 'Ek Tha Tiger' remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved action thrillers. With its gripping storyline and high-octane stunts, the film earned a cult following—but few fans know that Sooraj Pancholi played a significant behind-the-scenes role in the Kabir Khan directorial.
Sooraj played body double in Ek Tha Tiger
Sooraj, who was just 22 at the time, not only served as an Assistant Director on the film but also ended up becoming Salman Khan’s body double for several action-heavy scenes. Impressed by Sooraj’s presence and energy on set, Salman reportedly recommended him to Kabir Khan for the action sequences, recognizing his potential early on.
Interestingly, Sooraj had already dipped his toes into the world of filmmaking much earlier. At just 17, he worked as an AD on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Guzaarish'. His experience assisting on sets helped him understand the nuances of filmmaking—something he carried with him when he stepped into the spotlight as an actor.
Sorraj's acting debut
He made his acting debut with 'Hero', where he showcased impressive action chops and left a mark with his performance. Now, the actor is preparing for a powerful comeback with the upcoming historical drama 'Kesari Veer'. For the first time in his career, Sooraj will be seen in a period role, playing the part of unsung warrior Veer Hamirji Gohil.
Directed by Prince Dhiman, the film features an ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and debutante Akanksha Sharma. Kesari Veer is slated for a theatrical release on May 23
