Babil Khan Addresses Viral Photobomb Apology Backlash, Says 'Some Memes Hurt'
A video of Babil Khan apologising repeatedly to a woman after accidentally photobombing her on the red carpet went viral last year.

New Delhi: Babil Khan, son of the late legendary actor Irrfan Khan, has talked about the online trolling he faced after an awkward photobombing incident went viral last year. People on the internet had different opinions about the video; some thought he was humble, while others thought he was "pretentious" or "too nice." The 'Qala' actor cleared the air and spoke up about the emotional toll of the reaction in an honest conversation with Mid-day.
Babil thought about what had happened and how it affected him emotionally. He said, “That ‘sorry sorry sorry’ was me being anxious."
In keeping with the sensitivity that has come to define him, he continued, “Whatever it became was a beast of its own. Some particular memes hurt me. I sat with [the feeling]. But I was scuba diving after that. I still could make music and read my books. It didn’t make me trust myself less.”
The actor also highlighted the burden of growing up in the limelight, particularly as the son of a well-known movie star. Babil said, “I thought there has to be a balance between the job of a celebrity, that of an actor, and who you are as a human being. You have to find bridges between all of them."
