On Saturday, Amitabh took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and expressed his feelings, writing: “With the mountains of praise coming for Abhishek and the film Kaalidhar Laapata .. mountains of pride fill my heart and mind for my SON.”

Earlier in the day, he also highlighted a touching compliment sent by his longtime associate and director, Tinnu Anand, who helmed some of Amitabh’s iconic films like Kaalia (1981), Shahenshah (1988), Main Azad Hoon (1989), and Major Saab (1998).

About Kaalidhar Laapata
Kaalidhar Laapata is the Hindi remake of Madhumita’s acclaimed 2019 Tamil dramedy K.D. The film features Abhishek as the eldest member of a family who is abandoned at the Kumbh mela after battling mental illness. He finds an unexpected bond with a spirited orphan, Ballu, who helps him rediscover his purpose. The film also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and includes a guest appearance by Nimrat Kaur.
