Akshay's upcoming movie
Akshay is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein. The movie features an ensemble cast including Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, and Fardeen Khan. This marks Akshay's third film release this year, following Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira, both of which did not perform well at the box office, adding to his string of recent flops.
Akshay on the failure of his recent films
During the trailer launch of Khel Khel Mein, Akshay addressed the recent underperformance of his films at the box office.
He said, “Whatever happens, happens for the good. I don't think too much about the box office failure of my films. Four or five of my films haven't worked, and I receive so many messages saying, 'Sorry, yaar, fikar mat kar' (Don't worry, my friend). I'm not dead! It feels like people are sending me obituary messages, like how people send condolences. One journalist even wrote, 'You'll be back.' I called him up and asked, 'Why are you writing this? What does 'back' mean? Where have I gone,” Kumar said at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, ‘Khel Khel Mein.’
"I'm here and I'll keep working. I'll always keep working irrespective of what people say. In the morning, I wake up, exercise, leave for work, and return home. Whatever I earn, I earn on my own. I'll never snatch anything from anyone. I'll keep working until they shoot me down to stop me from working,” he added.
