After Divorce From Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree Verma Shuts Down Trolls, Says Love Is About 'Naseeb', Not Planning

Dhanashree Verma, having recently finalised her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal, remains hopeful about finding love again, though her current focus is on her career.

New Delhi: Actress and choreographer Dhanashree Verma has finally spoken up after months of rumours and social media scrutiny about her private life. The singer and internet sensation, who married Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in December 2020, got divorced earlier this year on March 20, 2025. Even though her marriage is over, her energy and perspective on love are unwavering.

In a candid interview with ETimes, Dhanashree talked about the emotional roller coaster she's been on in recent months, as well as the wave of media attention. Sharing her views on love, Dhanashree said, "Pyaar ki baat karein (talking about love), toh you can't plan these things. Aap ye decide nahi kar sakte ke main aaj ya ek saal baad pyaar mein padhungi (You can't decide when you want to fall in love). Love is a different entity altogether. What matters most to me is mera focus aur main apne life mein aage kya dekh rahi hoon."

She continued, "Right now, it's all about work, growth, and apne aap ko present karna (to present myself) in the best way possible. Aur agar naseeb mein achha likha hai (if something good is written in destiny) then why not—who doesn't want love in life? But for now, I'm focusing on my career and giving it my all."

Dhanashree also criticised the misleading stories that were being spread about her, describing them as "far from the truth." She said she doesn't feel the need to explain her position, referring to her "values and her upbringing."

She said, “I’ve always believed in maintaining dignity and grace. Putting others down has never been my way, and it never helps anyone rise in life.”

On the work front, Dhanashree recently appeared in the song 'Ting Ling Sajna' from Rajkummar Rao’s starrer 'Bhool Chuk Maaf'.
