Aamir Khan Says He Smokes Pipe, Has Quit Alcohol: 'When I Used To Drink, I Would Drink All Night'

Speaking candidly during a conversation with Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan shared details about his struggles with indiscipline, his past habits, and his approach to filmmaking.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has shared some personal insights into his lifestyle and work ethic. Speaking candidly during a conversation with Nana Patekar, the actor shared details about his struggles with indiscipline, his past habits, and his approach to filmmaking.

Aamir Khan on quitting alcohol

Aamir admitted to quitting alcohol some time ago, acknowledging that he used to drink excessively. However, he disclosed that he still smokes a pipe. “I smoke a pipe. Now I have quit drinking, but at one point, I used to drink. And when I used to drink, I would drink all night,” Aamir shared during the interview, which aired on Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel.

Aamir on not being disciplined in personal life

When Nana asked Aamir about his discipline, the actor clarified that while he is punctual and meticulous when it comes to his films, his personal life lacks the same structure. “Yes, for shoots, I am always on time. So I am not indisciplined when it comes to my films, but in my life, I am,” he confessed. He described himself as an "extremist," explaining, “The problem is that I am an extremist man, so I continue to do what I am already doing. It’s not a good thing, and I realise that. I also know that I am doing the wrong thing but I can't stop myself.”

Aamir also acknowledged that he tends to be “very lazy” outside of his professional commitments. Nana, known for his straightforward demeanor, suggested that Aamir should keep himself occupied with continuous work. Responding to this, Aamir revealed his plan to take on one film per year moving forward. “I have thought that I will do one film a year now because otherwise, I end up doing one film in three years,” he remarked.

On the work front

On the work front, Aamir Khan is gearing up for 'Sitaare Zameen Par', slated for a 2025 release. Additionally, he is producing several upcoming projects, including 'Lahore 1947' featuring Sunny Deol, Ek Din starring his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi, and a film led by Vir Das, which is being written and directed by the comedian himself.
