'Bollywood Can't Afford Me' — Mahesh Babu On Why He Is Not Doing Hindi Films

New Delhi: Mahesh Babu is a Telugu film superstar with a kind of fanbase that not many stars see these days. At the press conference of ‘Major’, which Mahesh Babu also is producing, the star's response to a media query created a storm on social media.

On being asked why he wasn't doing Hindi films instead of dubbing his acted and produced films in Hindi, the actor reportedly answered, "I always wanted to do Telugu films and wished people across India would watch it. And now when that is happening I’m very happy. I always had this strong opinion that my strength is Telugu films and the emotion I understand is the Telugu film emotion."

"I may sound arrogant, I did get a lot of offers in Hindi. But I think they can’t afford me. I don’t want to waste my time. The stardom and love I have here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of going to another industry. I always thought I will do films here and they will become bigger, and my belief is turning into a reality now. I can’t be happier," the 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' actor was quoted by a Pinkvilla report.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu was the chief guest at the trailer launch of  Adivi Sesh’s upcoming Pan-India film ‘Major’, which he is producing under his production house GMB entertainment, where he made the mentioned comment that has generated a storm on social media.
