Badshah Fined Rs.15 K For Traffic Rules Violation In Gurugram

Gurugram Traffic Police has fined renowned rapper Badshah Rs 15,000 for several traffic violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road, playing loud music, and rash driving.

Gurugram Traffic Police has fined renowned rapper Badshah Rs 15,000 for several traffic violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road, playing loud music, and rash driving. The incident occurred on December 15 when Badshah arrived at Airia Mall on Sohana Road for a special appearance at a concert by Punjabi singer Karan Aujla.

Badshah fined Rs. 15k

The Mahindra Thar, in which Badshah was traveling, is registered to Deepender Malik, a Panipat resident. Due to heavy traffic, the vehicle, part of Badshah's convoy, drove on the opposite side of the road, drawing the attention of passersby who filmed the incident. The footage quickly went viral on social media, prompting the traffic police to issue the fine.

Traffic Inspector Devender Kumar confirmed that the fine was imposed for rash driving, loud music, and driving against traffic regulations.

Police said that three vehicles drove on the wrong side of the road to reach the venue on time and that disrupted the traffic movement.

The fine was imposed after a video of the vehicles entering the mall from the wrong direction began doing the rounds on social media platforms following which traffic police checked the CCTV footage of the movement of the vehicles to confirm violation of traffic rules.

Virender Vij, Gurugram’s deputy commissioner of police (traffic), stated that the Punjabi rapper Badshah was in one of the three vehicles but it was not clear whether he was driving.

What the police say

“The Thar was registered in the name of a person, Dipender Hooda of Panipat, and he was driving it. The overall online fine imposed against Hooda was ₹15,500 under three sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, including dangerous driving and wrong-side driving,” Vij said.

Police also stated that similar action will be taken against the other two vehicles which had temporary registration numbers.

“We are investigating to ascertain who were the owners of the two remaining vehicles which had temporary registration numbers and their respective drivers at the time when the offence took place after which fines will be imposed against them too,” Vij added.
