Arshad Warsi On Modern Relationships And Polygamy: 'It's Like Cigarettes Were Once Considered Cool, Now...'

Arshad Warsi talked about the younger generation's experimentation with relationships, giving an example of his own teenage kid.

New Delhi: The ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ fame Arshad Warsi recently shared his take on modern-day relationships. He was interviewed by 'Unfiltered by Samdish' where he shared his views on polygamy and how it's similar to other "cool" yet harmful trends, like cigarette smoking. The actor discussed today’s norm in dating by giving an example of his own teenage kids.

Speaking about polygamy, Arshad Warsi said, “Unfortunately, it looks like once upon a time cigarettes were considered cool, now this is considered cool but it's toxic. We will later realise that this is very wrong.”

Arshad said he is worried about the way young people nowadays handle relationships. He shared, “There is a thing which I heard my kids saying, we are not committed but we still going out. Sab chal raha hai, sab kuch ho raha hai but hum committed nahi hai. Boss, kya ho raha hai (Everything is going on, everything is happening but we are not committed. Boss, what is happening)."

Arshad Warsi on Influence of Social Media

The actor also argued that the current trend of casual experimentation in relationships is influenced more by social media. He said, “The whole thing of trying everything and then deciding, and you don’t have to do this and you don’t have to do that. Life doesn’t have to be like this. Jo harr wo cheez jo purkho ke zamaane se chali aa rahi hai, humare maa-baap ne sikhayi hai, jo norm lagta hai, wo saari cheeze galat hai. This is purely social media (Everything that has been coming from the times of our ancestors, that our parents have taught us, that seems to be the norm, all those things are wrong).”

On the work front, Arshad Warsi will be seen in ‘Jolly LLB 3’ with Bollywood's Khiladi, Akshay Kumar. He will also star in 'Welcome to the Jungle'.
