Anupam Kher Confirms Wife Kirron Kher Is Suffering From Blood Cancer & Is Currently Undergoing Treatment
Kirron Kher Blood Cancer: Veteran Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher is suffering from blood cancer, and is undergoing treatment in Mumbai.
Hours after news of BJP MP and veteran actress, Kirron Kher suffering from blood cancer surfaced in media, actor Anupam Kher took to his social media account to confirm his wife’s cancer diagnosis.
Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma - a type of blood cancer and is undergoing treatment, tweeted her husband and actor Anupam Kher on Thursday.
Earlier, Chandigarh BJP president Arun Sood too had revealed the same at a press conference on Wednesday (March 31). Sood further added that the 68-year-old Bollywood actor-turned-politician is recovering after her treatment for the disease started last year.
Sood further added that, “Even though she is recovering after her four-month treatment and no longer admitted at Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai, she has to visit the hospital regularly for treatment.” He stated that in the latest tests, her disease has receded from her arm and shoulder.
Sood’s revelation on Kirron Kher’s health came after she faced criticism by the opposition Congress over her prolonged absence from Chandigarh during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Soon after Anupam shared the news of his wife battling cancer, his fans and Bollywood friends started to pour concerning messages praying for the actress' speedy recovery.
Actress Parineeti Chopra replied to Anupam's message and wrote: Sir we are praying for her with several heart emojis.
Despite joining politics, Kirron did not quit showbiz and was seen as a judge on reality show India's Got Talent, along with Karan Johar and Malaika Arora.
