Amol Palekar’s wife while talking to ABP Live said that there is nothing to worry about his health. “He is recovering and his condition is better than before. This is an old illness. Due to excessive smoking, he was admitted to the hospital 10 years ago as well. But his condition is fine at present,” she added.

Palekar has also worked and contributed to Marathi mainstream films and parallel cinema, made his debut in 1971 with the film 'Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe'. He then stepped into Bollywood with Basu Bhattacharya's 'Rajnigandha' opposite Rakhee in 1974.

He was popular for starring in "middle-class family comedies" such as 'Gol Maal' and 'Naram Garam', and was also seen in films such as 'Gharonda', 'Shrimaan Shrimati', 'Rang Birangi', and 'Bhumika'.

Amol has been missing from the screen for quite some time. He returned to acting with the film, Halla Ho, which released on ZEE5 last year. It was a true story of Dalit women who attacked a rapist in an open court. The movie also featured Rinku Rajguru, Barun Sobti, Upendra Limaye, Indraneil Sengupta, Saloni Batra and Sahil Khattar.

We wish the filmmaker a speedy recovery!
