'Won't Contest Election If...': Kejriwal's Challenge To Amit Shah Ahead Of Delhi Polls
Arvind Kejriwal said that if Amit Shah rehabilitates 3 lakh people and give them back their houses, then he won't contest the elections in Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday challenged Amit Shah ahead of the Delhi Assembly Elections saying he will not contest the elections if the Home Minister withdraws all cases related to Delhi slum demolitions and rehabilitates every evicted person.
Kejriwal claimed that the BJP will demolish all the slums in Delhi if the party is voted to power in the elections.
Addressing a press conference in the Shakur Basti area of New Delhi, the former CM accused the BJP of prioritising land acquisition over the welfare of slum dwellers.
"There are elections after 30 days, and these BJP people are sleeping in slums. One leader has slept in this slum, another has slept in that slum. They didn't sleep in these last 10 years. They are remembering the people living in slums during the elections, Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal alleged that the BJP doesn't love the people in the slums, but have their eyes on the slum land.
"They want your votes first and your land after the elections," Kejriwal said, referring to the BJP.
He also criticised the BJP's 'Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan' scheme, terming it an eyewash.
"In the past five years, they have constructed only 4,700 flats for slum dwellers," he added.
Kejriwal also alleged that the BJP has plans to take over the land currently occupied by slum dwellers without addressing their housing needs.
"They will demolish all the slums and acquire the land without any concern for the people living there," he said.
"In the last 10 years, you (BJP) demolished the slums in Tughlaqabad and Jangpura. You dispaced 3 lakh people. You build their slums and you give their homes to 3 lakh people, from whom you snatched away their slums. You make their slums again and Kejriwal won't fight the election," the AAP leader said challenging Amit Shah.
Kejriwal further said that if Amit Shah rehabilitates 3 lakh people and give them back their houses, then he won't contest the elections in Delhi.
Kejriwal was accompanied by senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain, the party's candidate from Shakur Basti constituency. Jain is seeking re-election from the seat for the fourth time after winning it in 2013, 2015 and 2020.
Delhi goes to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The AAP, which won 62 of the 70 seats in Delhi in the 2020 elections, is eyeing a third consecutive full term.
