The LDF, which is the ruling party in Kerala, has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India, requesting an investigation into the seizure of food kits displaying images of Congress leaders in Tholpetty. The Left party claims that the kits were intended for distribution to voters as an attempt to sway them in favor of the Congress in the by-poll.

On Friday, LDF district convener and former MLA C K Saseendran said, "Complaints were lodged to the Central Election Commission and Wayanad District Collector seeking an investigation into the issue."

"The UDF is violating the election rules and norms by distributing food kits to voters in Wayanad. The kits carrying pictures of Congress leaders were distributed in the guise of assistance to the landslide victims," alleged a LDF leader, as per PTI.
