Tej Pratap Yadav To Fight Bihar Election From This Seat? Suspended RJD Leader Drops Strong Hint: WATCH

Suspended RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav hinted at contesting the Assembly election from this seat as he inspected an under-construction medical college hospital.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and former Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav struck out on his own on Thursday, making his first visit to Mahua after being suspended from the party.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav indicated his willingness to fight from Mahua: “If the people of Mahua, command it, I will contest the Assembly election (from Mahua).”

“I came to see the medical college in Mahua. We had promised during the elections that we would give a medical college, and now it's ready. I fulfil whatever promise I make,” he recalled earlier.

He did not reveal which party’s ticket he might seek.

Green Caps, Yellow Flags and ‘Team Tej Pratap’

Sporting a green cap, the former minister was greeted by supporters waving yellow-and-green flags emblazoned with “Tej Pratap Team”. Every vehicle in his convoy carried the same flag, and slogans in his favour rent the air, according to Dainik Jagran.

Yadav inspected the under-construction medical college hospital in Mahua.

He added that the Grand Alliance government had approved the project. “For years, local residents had to travel to Patna or other big cities for quality treatment. This hospital will give relief not only to Mahua but also to neighbouring areas,” he said as per Jagran's report.

Emphasising his focus on strict timelines and high standards, Yadav stated: “My priority is to see that construction is completed on time and with quality”

Officials briefed him on the status of work, which includes plans for an OPD, IPD, emergency wing, state-of-the-art operating theatres and laboratories, the report stated.
