'Let Us Show Benefits Of Repeating A Govt': CM Gehot's Appeal To People Ahead Of Rajasthan Polls

Rajasthan Election 2023: CM Ashok Gehlot has appealed to the voters of the state to choose the Congress again in upcoming elections and let the party show the benefits of repeating a government.

Rajasthan Elections 2023: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday appealed to people of his state to vote for his party in the upcoming assembly polls and let them show the benefits of "repeating a government". He claimed to have received positive feedback from across the state about his government and said that BJP spreads rumors. Gehlot was speaking to reporters in Delhi after giving a courtesy visit to former Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Notably, no government has come back to power in Rajasthan since 1993. Both Congress and BJP have been taking turns after winning every alternate assembly poll for the last three decades.

On finalising candidates for the Rajasthan elections, CM Gehlot said that process is underway and is likely to be concluded around October 18 when the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meets.

"The process has just commenced and around October 18, when the CEC meeting will start, only then we will be able to finalise things (candidates for Rajasthan Assembly polls)...Whenever I visit Delhi, I make sure to meet Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi..." he said.

"As far as the election is concerned, there are beneficiaries of our scheme in every home, from villages to towns. We have tried to provide some relief from inflation to the people of Rajasthan. The feedback that we are getting from villages is very good," Gehlot said.

"Because of our good governance, we want to appeal to the people of Rajasthan to bring us back to power. With the change in government, several schemes are stopped..." he concluded.

The BJP has majorly won big while the Congress has failed to secure a simple majority of 101 seats. The grand old party formed the government in the state with the support of smaller parties like BSP and independents In 2008 and 2018.
