Lok Sabha Polls 2024: PM Modi To Hold Rallies In Maharashtra's Latur & Telangana's Sangareddy Today

Ahead of phase 3, PM Modi will hold election rallies in Latur district in Maharashtra and Telangana's Sangareddy district on April 30.

With the stage set for the third phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will hold poll rallies in Maharashtra's Latur and Telangana's Alladurg in Sangareddy district.

PM Modi will be visiting Latur to hold a rally in Birle Farm, which will likely begin at 12:30 pm. The rally will be attended by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis.

In view of the PM's rally in the Latur district, flying drones till the intervening night of April 30-May 1 have been banned by the administration. Traffic regulations have also been imposed on several roads, an official told news agency PTI on Sunday.

The order to ban drones from till midnight of April 30-May 1 was passed by Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge.

Additionally, she has also imposed curbs on heavy vehicles between 12 noon and 5pm on April 30 on several roads, a district official told PTI.

In Latur, BJP's sitting MP Sudhakar Shrangare is pitted against Congress' Shivaji Kalge. Meanwhile, Osmanabad will witness a fight between Mahayuti's candidate Archana Patil and Shiv Sena's (UBT) sitting MP Omraje Nimbalkar.

Yesterday, PM Modi addressed an election meeting in Maharashtra's Solapur as well.

Latur will go for voting on May 7 during phase 3 of polling, while results will be declared on June 4.

PM Modi To Hold Rally In Telangana Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be addressing an election rally in Telangana's Alladurg, located in Sangareddy district today, marking his second meeting in the state since the poll schedule was announced.

PM Modi's visit to Telangana also comes in as the state CM Revanth Reddy was issued notice in the Amit Shah fake video case.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had set a target of securing a win in the state by wresting double digit seats out of the total 17 in Telangana.

On May 1, Amit Shah will be campaigning for the saffron party's Hyderabad contestant Madhavi Latha. Latha has been fielded against the current MP from the constituency AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi.

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP secured just four seats in Telangana. BJP has fielded the rest of the candidates from their respective constituencies, barring Soyam Bapurao from the Adilabad constituency.

BJP has been campaigning aggressively in Telangana with the state chief and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who is the party candidate for Secunderabad, Nizamabad MP D Arvind, and National general Secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar, contesting from Karimnagar, already engaged in vigorous campaigns in their respective segments.
