Telangana CM Revanth Reddy On Notice In Amit Shah Fake Video Case: 'Modi Using Delhi Police To Win Elections'

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy accuses PM Modi of misusing the Delhi Police for electoral gains. The Delhi Police has summoned Reddy in connection with a fake video case involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Amit Shah Fake Video Case: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing the Delhi Police for electoral gains, following the summoning in connection with a fake video case involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking in Karnataka's Kalaburagi, Reddy stated, "So far, ED, CBI and Income Tax were used by PM Modi and Amit Shah to win elections but today I got to know that Delhi Police has reached the office of Telangana Congress party. This means Narendra Modi is using Delhi Police to win elections now. No one is going to get scared, we will give you a befitting reply."

He further added, "We will defeat Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka and Telangana because Rahul Gandhi undertook a padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. (State) Governments have been formed in Karnataka and Telangana, and soon Maharashtra and the Centre will also have Congress governments."

The Delhi Police, on Monday, issued a summons to Revanth Reddy, asking him to appear on May 1 in connection with the dissemination of a doctored video involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Reddy has been directed to bring the mobile phone allegedly used to share the video on X (formerly Twitter). Sources suggest that Reddy's phone will be probed.

Additionally, five others, including some Congress leaders, who shared the manipulated videos, have also been summoned by the Delhi Police.

Assam Police Arrest Congress Worker In Amit Shah's Doctored Video Case

The FIR was lodged by the Delhi Police on Sunday after a complaint from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the doctored video of Amit Shah. The FIR was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed on X that an accused named Reetom Singh has been arrested in connection with Amit Shah's fake video. 31-year-old Singh is associated with the Assam Congress and functions as the party's 'War Room Coordinator', as per his X profile.

The complaint, filed by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), highlighted the circulation of doctored videos on social media aimed at stirring disharmony among communities. The fake videos twisted Amit Shah's remarks where he was indicating a commitment to abolish the quota for Muslims on religious grounds in Telangana to make it seem that he was supporting the scrapping of all reservations.

The Special Cell is anticipated to make arrests across the country in connection with this case. Additionally, the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Special Cell has approached social media platforms to trace the origin of the video and those responsible for its dissemination.
