Mizoram Legislative Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 7. The Election Commission of India has selected December 3 as the counting day.

The Mizoram Legislative Assembly's term ends on December 17 this year.

The Congress and MNF fought all 40 seats in the 2018 election, with the MNF taking 28 and the Congress taking five. The BJP ran 39 candidates and won one, while ZPM candidates ran as independents and won six seats.

ZPM, which began as a coalition of six parties immediately before the last election and was later reorganised as a single body, appears to have acquired political clout in metropolitan regions. The party's leadership intends to improve its performance across the state.
