'I Will Take Elderly For Pilgrimage On Flights': CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Poll Pitch Ahead Of MP Elections

MP Elections 2023: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that his government will take the elderly of the state to pilgrimage on flights.

Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: With elections approaching Madhya Pradesh, both Congress and BJP are trying to woo voters to claim the state in their favour. Now, with the same hope, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday said that he will take the elderly in the state to pilgrimage through flights. He announced the scheme while addressing the 'Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Sammelan' in Panna district. Chouhan alleged that the Kamal Nath-led Congress government had stopped all the schemes run by the BJP government, including the 'Tirth Yatra' of the elderly in the state.

"Congress and Kamal Nath stopped our plans as soon as they came to power. I use to give money for cycles to children, but Congress stopped it. I used to give money for laptops to sons and daughters but Congress stopped that as well. To poor sisters, I used to provide a relief of Rs 4,000 before the birth of the child and Rs 12,000 after delivery, they stopped this too," he said.

He added, "I used to take the elderly of state to pilgrimage, but Congress cancelled it too. Now, I will again start taking elderly on pilgrimage and this time not only on the train but through flights," the CM announced.

The CM added that the government used to get daughters married, and that scheme was also stopped by Congress.

"I will gradually increase the amount of Ladli Bahna Yojana from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 per month...Science faculty classes will be started in Gunaur's college. Along with this, the Girls' High School of Gunaur will be made a Higher Secondary School," the Chief Minister was quoted as saying by ANI.
