TMC Manifesto For Lok Sabha Promises Scrapping CAA And NRC, Raising MGNREGA Wages, Old Age Pension
In its manifesto, the TMC stated that UCC will not be applicable in the entire country.
Lok Sabha Elections: Trinamool Congress on Wednesday launched its poll manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections promising scrapping of CAA and NRC if the party is voted to power. In its manifesto, the TMC also stated that UCC will not be applicable in the entire country.
The TMC has also promised that the current old age pension for citizens above the age of 60 will be increased to ₹1,000 per month. Mamata Banerjee's party has released its manifesto two days ahead of the first phase of polling in the LS polls.
TMC Manifesto: Here Are 10 Promises Of Mamata Banerjee's Party
- Income of daily laboureres will be increased. The wages under MGNREGA will be increased to Rs 400 per day.
- People will be permanent houses.
- All BPL families will get free 10 gas cylinders per year.
- Doorstep-free ration delivery to all holders of ration cards and every card holder will receive 5 kg free ration at their doorstep.
- All the citizens above 60 years of age will be given a pension of Rs 1000 per month (12, 000 per year).
- Fuel and LPG prices will be investigated
- Price Stabilisation Fund will be created and students up to the age of 25 will receive stipend.
- Those who are planning for further studies will be given a student credit card of Rs 10 lakh.
- Monthly amount will be given to women on the lines with Lakshmi Bhandar scheme of West Bengal.
- Medical insurance of Rs 10 lakh will be given to all.
During a public meeting in Assam's Silchar, Trinamool Congress chairperson and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "If we win, we will not implement NRC and CAA in the state...How many people will be kept in the detention camp? This election is going to be terrible. I have never seen such a black and corrupt election before...Riot is their (Modi govt) only guarantee. I don't believe that Modi will do anything for anyone. This government is a 'jumlebaaz' government...I am not afraid of any threats."
